Hello. I’m Mishka!
Creative | Eclectic | Glameleon
Native to the largest city in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (the U.P.), Mishka Von Harvey is known to confuse non-Michigan friends and acquaintances with pronunciations of everyday words. Most confusion occurs when she speaks correctly – according to the Yooper protocol – by using a short “a” to pronounce English words. The words mentioned henceforth, make absolutely no sense to Mishka, unless they are (correctly) spoken with a short vowel sound: bag, flag, rag, tag, magazine, dragon and about [aka: a-boat]. Within her circle/tribe of friends, when they are not laughing at this region dialect, it is often emphasized how her speech is both “cute and charming”.
The U.P. will always be the first chapter in Mishka’s story. Like many people who grow up in rural (but beautiful) areas, Mishka longed to be somewhere where she felt she belonged as a creative individual. After being an exchange student in Germany in high school she was inspired to get to know the bigger world by experiencing unfamiliar places. Mishka has also lived in Savannah, GA and Chicago, IL. She currently resides in Saint Louis, MO – which isn’t her favorite city – but feels like she fits in due to curating a large group of amazingly quirky charters that she calls her friends. Being surrounded by absolute positivity, encouraging individuals and an adorable French Bulldog – Thelma, has been the key to her happiness.
